Many downsides to politics, but the worst -- in my opinion -- is the inevitable need to request campaign contributions. Well, here we are...

I am David Hogan, a politically left-leaning moderate running for State Representative in the 61st Ohio district (Delaware and Knox counties) against a right-wing fringe extremist, Beth Lear, who participated in the January 6th Insurrection. I am running to ensure that our state government will finally protect the rights of women, LGBTQ citizens, our public schools, and everyone else here in Ohio. I invite you to join me in my campaign for building a better state government.

Campaigns cost money. If you agree with me, please send whatever you can to "Hogan for a Better Ohio" to help build our momentum, be it $5.00 or $15,499.69. (That's Ohio's maximum contribution, so be sure not to exceed it!) If you do not have the money to spare, then please send along your encouragement and good thoughts.

Fortunately, Ohio makes statewide campaign contributions relatively painless:

From the Ohio Secretary of State's website:

"Ohio law allows a state income tax credit for monetary contributions made to the campaign committee of a candidate for statewide office or member of the General Assembly up to an annual limit of $50 for single filers and $100 for joint filers."

That is a tax credit -- not a deduction -- literally meaning that you get every cent back from the state. Please take advantage of Governor DeWine's generosity!

Please send what you can to:

Thank you, folks!
